About Creative Connections
Creative Connections is a collaborative creative initiative co-founded by Kristin Sheehan and Catherine Walters offering live and on-demand art-based experiences for individuals navigating chronic pain, chronic illness, cancer, trauma, neurodivergence, and other complex life experiences.
Our work emerged from a shared desire to create supportive and expressive spaces where creativity, reflection, and human connection could become meaningful tools for self-exploration and healing.
As individuals with lived experience navigating invisible challenges, we understand how difficult it can be to communicate experiences that are deeply felt yet often unseen by others. Through art-making, somatic awareness, storytelling, and guided reflection, we discovered meaningful ways to cultivate self-expression, connection, and a deeper relationship with ourselves and our experiences.
Today, Creative Connections offers live workshops in partnership with healthcare and community organizations, as well as self-paced preparation and integration experiences developed in collaboration with clinical partners. Across all offerings, we remain committed to creating welcoming, inclusive spaces where creativity and connection can flourish.

Our Approach
We believe creative expression can offer meaningful pathways toward reflection, self-understanding, connection, and emotional processing.
Our approach integrates art-making, somatic awareness, guided reflection, mindfulness-based practices, and communication-centered exploration to support individuals in engaging with experiences that may feel difficult to express through words alone.
Through both live and self-paced experiences, participants are invited to explore creativity in a supportive and non-judgmental environment that encourages curiosity, personal meaning-making, and authentic self-expression.
We are less interested in creating “perfect art” and more interested in creating space for presence, exploration, and connection with oneself and with others.
Whether through immersive workshops, guided creative practices, or collaborative community experiences, our intention is to support participants in feeling more connected to their inner experiences, creativity, and shared humanity.
